I adore that man. He was an absolutely brilliant poet, and a fascinating person. His personality simply bleeds through his works; I'd wager it nigh impossible to NOT become attached to him if one enjoys his writing even a little bit. I've admittedly obsessed over Byron since finally reading him more extensively for my British literature class last week, but I can't say I think it an issue. :3 In my last year of high school I came across a poem of his--I think it may have been "She walks in beauty"--in the back of my literature book, and fell in love with his lovely words. I wanted to know why we never studied him; I felt cheated. I believe they were simply being overly conservative. According to my current professor he remains one of the most banned poets in the world, which I find dreadfully depressing.
